Our Specialist Computer Cleaning Scotland Teams
Clean Care Scotland have a range of specialist teams trained specifically to tackle issues such as computer cleaning Scotland which should not be left to your regular office cleaners.
Do you know how important it is to have your computer cleaned on a regular basis?
We are not talking solely about just the appearance of your computer and accessories either. I am speaking primarily about health issues which break into two main categories.
Computer Cleaning Scotland reduces the risk of health problems in your staff.
“Should somebody have a cold in your office, or even have gastroenteritis, you’re very likely to pick it up from a keyboard” Dr Peter Wilson Consultant Microbiologist – University College London Hospital
Your office keyboards are some of the most dangerous things on the average office desk. Indeed it has been found from research carried out both in the USA and in London that it is safer to eat your office lunch on a toilet seat than it would be on the average office desk.
Ask any Computer Cleaning Scotland team member where they would rather sit — after all they have seen the inside of lots of dirty computer keyboards and mice.
Just think about the number of coffee cups that have been placed on your office desk.
How many crumbs have been dropped on your keyboard whilst on their way to your mouth? As the crumbs slip down between the keys they can become breeding grounds for all sort of germs.
One of the things our Computer Cleaning Scotland Team Managers often do to illustrate the dangers of not cleaning keyboards is as follows.
Quickly lay out a few clean A4 sheets of paper across your desk and turn your keyboard upside down and slap it hard a few times. See the crumbs, staples and small pieces of paper falling out. What you don’t see however is the number of active germs and other bacteria growing there.
Now think about the number of times you have coughed or sneezed over your keyboard. What has happened to all those germs? Many will have settled on the keys. And multiplied!
Are you hot-desking and/or sharing computers at any time?
- Who is going to pick up those germs you left behind?
- Whose germs are you picking up from the keyboard in front of you as you read this page?
During the Which? (The Consumer Association) tests in January this year, a microbiologist deemed one of the office’s keyboards to be so dirty he ordered it to be immediately removed, quarantined and cleaned. He found it had 150 times the recommended limit for bacteria — five times as filthy as a lavatory seat tested at the same time.
If that had been your desk computer how would you have felt?
“If you look at what grows on computer keyboards, and hospitals are worse, believe it or not, it’s more or less a reflection of what’s in your nose and in your gut.” Dr Wilson, a consultant microbiologist at University College London Hospital.

Computer Cleaning Scotland and your Computers own health.
Computers are very carefully designed to run at a constant temperature. They require the planned air flow to be moving around the motherboard and processor unit. Yet we still see large numbers of office computers like the one on the right here with fan ventilation blocked by dust and fluff.
If the air cannot flow through your computer could be overheating and risking either meltdown of your chassis and it’s components or the dust inside your computer box catching fire. Computer Cleaning Scotland highly recommend the need to remove it totally before real damage is done to your hardware and/or data.
You don’t often see these areas but that does not the problem does not exist. However you are probably seeing some of the symptoms of poor computer health every day. Computer Cleaning Scotland can help you with that.
Does your computer system take a long time to boot up or run slowly at times?
Are you having to wait for your machine to catch up with you when running a number of programmes. It may be due to the machine slowing down due to overheating. This overheating is not only slowing down your computers work but could be shortening its life as well.
